2014-2015 was the first academic year in which the reformed representative-based Student Council began. The reformed council immediately began on an immensely successful journey to build a system where the voice of all students could be heard and enrich school spirit.
SPIRIT OF THE HOUSES ART COMPETITION
Many artists joined the Spirit of the Houses art competition, which became a way for aspiring artists to showcase their work and for people to express their house spirit.
The first-ever school constitution was drafted to set new rules and regulations for the representative-based Student Council. After many weeks of debating and rewriting, the constitution was approved through a council vote. The constitution can be found on this page.
Rebranding the Houses
New house logos were introduced to rebuild house spirit within the community. Many assembly events included house competitions as well! House wristbands were also introduced for the first time.
KIS THE VOICE
The signature achievement of SC 2014-2015 was KIS The Voice, a singing competition that was modelled on The Voice. It was extremely successful and allowed many students who had never before taken the stage to show their singing to the entire school.
Student Council fundraised for a variety of causes, such as breast cancer awareness, World AIDS Day and the Nepalese earthquake.
